Re: “Battle Over Ellison Heats Up” (Dec. 9): J Street and Peace Now are two of the most pro-Israel pro-peace groups. They are very involved in Israel-American policy and support a two-state solution and end to Israeli occupation of Palestinian land, which is consistent with most of progressive Jewish Americans’ position.
If J Street and Peace Now support Ellison it shows that he is responsive to our concerns about the peace process and Israeli occupation. The fact that Senator Bernie Sanders is supporting him is only icing on the cake.
Ellison should certainly be found acceptable to lead the Democratic National Committee as it leads the way towards a more realistic position to the Mideast problem.
