I recently moved from Sarasota, Fla., to New York City, mainly to find a spiritual home. And I found it in Rabbi Elie Abadie, one of the kindest rabbis I ever met; he is also an international and scholarly speaker with deep roots in the ethical values of Judaism; a physician who always finds time in his busy schedule to make house calls; and most important, he served as the founding rabbi of the Safra Synagogue on the Upper East Side.
My serious question to the trustees of the Safra Foundation is how is it possible that they dishonor the rabbi by forcing him out of his synagogue? This action is unworthy of any Jew.
