Nuance Is Key

Regarding Gary Rosenblatt’s column, “Bring More Nuance To Fight Against BDS” (April 7), the word nuance in the headline is very important. On most campuses, things don’t play out the way they sound at a meeting like this one, where the attendance and participation may not be representative of the pro-Israel community on a particular campus.

As the article implies, you don’t make friends for Israel by being an extremist or an Islamophobe, but by engaging in dialogue and diplomacy with other students. When the conversation is controlled by the radicals on both ends of the spectrum, it makes good press coverage but hardly reflects what most students think.
