As the State of Israel enters its 70th year on the 50th anniversary of the Six-Day War and the reunification of Jerusalem, we encourage our readers to participate in the annual Celebrate Israel Parade this Sunday, June 4, with a march up Fifth Avenue. The route is from 57th Street to 74th Street, and the parade will take place, rain or shine, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The largest celebration of its kind is sponsored by the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York, partnering with UJA-Federation of New York and the State of Israel. According to the sponsors, 40,000 marchers will participate, many of them school children and members of Jewish organizations from near and far.

The theme of this year’s event, which will feature marching bands and floats, is “Celebrate Israel All Together,” to which we add, “at least for one day.”

See you at the parade.
