When I first saw the controversial article (“Kashrut War Has Holy Overtones,” July 7) with the subsequent memes, I was shocked, to say the least. I am not a Lubavitcher chasid but I was extremely offended to see the outward lack of sensitivity and disrespect given to a respected Jewish leader.
Rabbi Schneerson was a rare type of Jewish leader whose work reached hundreds of thousands of Jews and non-Jews alike. I personally feel that the apology your newspaper posted (July 14) was severely lacking in the recognition of the severity of the offense your paper committed.
Please print another apology or I’m afraid you’ll lose another reader.
