No one “chooses” to be an addict. My experience with at-risk students shows me there is usually a combination of reasons why young adults slide into drug or alcohol abuse. They ALL need our compassion and understanding. Please do not judge that which you clearly do not understand. Would you be so harsh if, God forbid, it was your own child?
