The headline “Trump Divides U.S. and Israeli Jews” (June 15) should have read “U.S. and Israeli Jews Divided Over Trump.”
Likewise, the poll finding that only 34 percent of American Jews approve of Trump’s handling of U.S.-Israel relations vs. 77 percent of Israeli Jews (and 46 percent vs. 85 percent approve of moving the embassy to Jerusalem) undoubtedly reflects an unwillingness of many or most American Jews to support the president on any issue — even Israel. Our small Jewish community, even in America, still needs to be careful of extreme hostility to the most powerful person in the world in these days of increasing social unrest.
