The last thing the Jewish world needs is another level of chiefs (“Ready For A President Of The Jewish People?” July 27). Proud Jewish Israelis are not the problem. They defend their Jewish state with their presence, their lives, their pocketbooks and their democracy.
The problem is American Jews. We not only increasingly assimilate, but join and fund Israel bashing/pro Palestinian groups from the radical JVP [and] IfNotNow … to the more moderate NIF, Israel Policy Forum [and] J Street.
Pogo had it right: “We have met the enemy and he is us.” American Jews need a big dose of Israeli Jewish pride — to be as proud as every other minority in the U.S. and to take on the self-haters in our midst.
