JERUSALEM, May 19 (JTA) — Israeli planes will soon be allowed to land at the Jordanian port city of Aqaba. Jordan and Israel have been discussing the possibility of expanding the existing Aqaba airport to also serve the nearby southern Israeli resort town of Eilat. Permitting Israeli planes to use the Aqaba airport would be part of a feasibility study on whether to establish a joint airport serving the two Red Sea resort communities. Jawad Anani, a Jordanian deputy minister for development, said that the planes would be able to land within three months, after experts from both sides finalize the arrangement.
