JERUSALEM, Dec. 4 (JTA) — Fervently Orthodox Jews gathered in Tel Aviv this week to demand that all places of business and entertainment in the secular city be closed on Shabbat. The demonstration comes after a survey published by the Israeli daily Yediot Achronot shows that 47.2 percent of Israelis feel that growing polarization between secular and religious Jews will ultimately lead to civil war.
