Egypt has allowed Hamas to smuggle “tens of tons” of explosives into the Gaza Strip, Israel’s internal security minister said. “Egypt is not doing enough,” Avi Dichter said Thursday in Washington, according to a Reuters report. “That’s for sure. It’s not doing enough in terms of blocking this smuggling of means of warfare into the Gaza Strip.” Dichter was in Washington to sign a homeland security cooperation agreement. He said the smuggled explosives include anti-aircraft missiles. He stressed that he did not think Egypt was encouraging the smuggling, only that it was not doing enough to stop it.
