For the third year, activists in several cities will take part in “Israeli Apartheid Week,” a series of events focusing on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. CampusJ.com reported that the events will take place at a number of campuses in the United States and Canada, including Hunter College in New York City, Concordia University in Montreal and the University of Toronto, in addition to various churches and other locations. Events include speeches by scholars and Israeli Arab members of the Knesset, film screenings and protests. The goal of the week is three-fold, according to a statement: “full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, an end to the occupation and colonization of the West Bank and Gaza, and the implementation of the ‘right of return’ ” for Palestinian refugees.
