Israeli troops killed three Palestinian gunmen on the Gaza Strip boundary.

Hamas has recently been stepping up its overt involvment in hostilities with Israel. Its gunmen fired a rocket salvo from Gaza into Israel last week in what was the first official violation of a tenuous ceasefire declared in November.
