The Catholic Theological Union of Chicago will start a master’s program in interreligious dialogue this fall. In an April 26 announcement, the institution said the program’s goal is to provide students from the three Abrahamic religions – Judaism, Christianity and Islam – with practical skills to facilitate interfaith dialogue. Students will be expected to become theologically literate in the three religions and contribute to interfaith dialogue. Catholic Theological Union, the largest Roman Catholic graduate school of theology in North America, also has programs in Jewish and Islamic studies. It is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada, as well as the Higher Learning Commission.”As a Roman Catholic school of theology, CTU has a strong and long-term commitment to interreligious dialogue that has prepared it to mount such a program in a credible manner,” said its president, Father Donald Senior.
