Police in the Czech city of Brno cracked down on a neo-Nazi rally. About 600 people had gathered for Tuesday’s march, described by some media
outlets as one of the largest such rallies in the country in recent times.
The rally at first was deemed legal, but the gathering was disbanded
when demonstrators displayed a Czech neo-Nazi group’s symbols, which are banned
in public, according to a new police manual issued last month.
The police used tear gas and batons to break up the rally in
response to stone- and bottle-throwing, according to press
reports.
