Two U.S. representatives from Florida will join a state delegation to Israel and meet with top leaders. The visit next week by Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, a Republican and the ranking member on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and Robert Wexler, a Democrat and a senior member of the committee, will overlap with a delegation led by Florida Governor Charlie Crist. The pair will join Crist for a meeting with Eli Yishai, Minister of Industry, Trade and Labor, to discuss trade and commercial ties between Florida and Israel. Separately, Wexler and Ros-Lehtinen will meet with Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu, Amos Gilad of the Ministry of Defense and Gideon Frank of the Israeli Atomic Energy Agency. Said Ros-Lehtinen, “This visit offers us an opportunity to learn more about the economic and security challenges confronting our two great countries in a region vital to our own national interests.”
