A prominent British television journalist started a blog to help spearhead the fight against the National Union of Journalists’ vote to boycott Israeli goods. Launched last week by BBC-TV technology and business correspondent Rory Cellan-Jones, the blog Stop the NUJ Boycott will chronicle attempts to overturn the motion by circulating a ballot to the NUJ executive. The blog, http://stopnujboycott.blogspot.com, is open only to comment from NUJ members. On the site, Cellan-Jones said he was “just one of a number of BBC journalists concerned at the damage to our reputation for impartiality that results from the NUJ boycott policy.” Cellan-Jones said more than 300 BBC journalists have agreed to sign such a petition.
