The United Jewish Communities has hired Rebecca Caspi to head its new Global Operations group. The overseas unit is part of a UJC restructuring plan.Caspi will become the senior vice president,
director general of operations of UJC Israel on Sept. 1. She worked 16 years for the American Jewish Joint Distribution
Committee, most recently
as executive director of its professional resource
development.Caspi will work alongside the current head of UJC Israel, Nachman Shai, who will serve as a liaison with the government and media.The Global Operations group
will try to centralize UJC Israel’s overseas presence, focusing on needs assessment, oversight of overseas projects, building a
donor base overseas and missions.
