Deadly Palestinian infighting resumed in the Gaza Strip after a three-week lull.
Loyalists from the rival Hamas and Fatah factions clashed in the southern Gazan town of Rafah on Thursday. Two Palestinians were killed, at least one of them a Fatah gunman.
It was the worst flare-up since Hamas and Fatah, under Egyptian pressure to stem a surge of violence that claimed more than 50 lives, declared a truce in mid-May.
Earlier this week, militiamen from the rival groups battled near the Gaza’s Karni crossing into Israel, but no one was killed.
