An Israeli armor protection manufacturing company won an international bid to supply the U.S. Marine Corps.

An Israeli armor protection manufacturing company won an international bid to supply the U.S. Marine Corps.The Plasan Sasa company competed against nine international armament companies to receive a subcontract worth $200 million, Yediot Achronot reported. The funds are part of an $8 billion project to outfit the Marine Corps and other U.S. Army forces with mine resistant ambush protected (MRAP) vehicles. Located at Kibbutz Sasa near the Israel-Lebanon border, Plasan is the third-most profitable company in the kibbutz movement, clearing $180 million in sales in 2006.
