Britain’s minister for counterterrorism and security proposed banning two more militant Islamic organizations. In the wake of last week’s attempted car bombings in Britain, Minister Tony McNulty published a draft order in Parliament today to ban Jamayetul Mujahideen Bangladesh and Tehreek Nifaz-e-Shariat Mohammadi from Britain. They would join 44 organizations already forbidden under the Terrorism Act, which prohibits belonging to or encouraging support for the groups. The two organizations have been associated with terror attacks in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan, but reportedly are not connected to last week’s attempted terror attacks in London and Glasgow.”Proscription powers are a key tool in the fight against terrorism,” McNulty said in a statement.
