An Austrian author was extradited from Spain to face conviction for Holocaust denial in his home country.
Gerd Honsik, 65, was sentenced to 18 months in prison as a result of his 1992 conviction for writing that the Holocaust and the gas chambers were fiction. After his conviction he fled to Spain and was living in Malaga. He left Spain on Thursday.
Honsik is the author of several books, including, “Absolution of Hitler.”
Holocaust denial is punishable in Austria by up to a decade in jail.
