A pair of Israeli-Palestinian peace concerts featuring rock star Bryan Adams were scuttled by Palestinian rejectionists.
The One Voice concerts, which also were to feature local artists and take place this Thursday in Jericho and Tel Aviv, were called off after local Palestinian groups calling for a boycott of the concert prompted several Palestinian performers to withdraw from the event.
One Voice said it canceled the event due to security concerns after Palestinian extremists threatened performers and audience members who were to participate in the Jericho concert.
Some 600,000 people have signed an on-line petition sponsored by the New York-based One Voice organization, which calls for a peace agreement to be reached within a year based on a two-state solution and a Palestinian capital in eastern Jerusalem.
