Israeli astronaut Ilan Ramon’s diary pages that survived the Columbia shuttle crash will go on display.

The Israel Museum is beginning the work of scanning and transcribing the more than 30 pages of Ramon’s personal diary kept during his time in space on the Columbia in February 2003.

The pages were found near the crash site, two months after the shuttle exploded upon entry into the earth’s atmosphere.

The original pages will not be displayed. A copy of the journal will be kept in Ramon’s family home.
