The United Nations is investigating the Palestinians’ use of a U.N. school in the Gaza Strip to attack Israel.

U.N. Secretary of State Ban Ki-moon ordered the probe over the weekend after Israel broadcast surveillance footage of Palestinian terrorists firing mortars from the courtyard of an UNRWA school in the northern Gaza border town of Beit Hanoun.

UNRWA, the U.N. agency responsible for Palestinian refugees, said there were no children or staff in the school at the time, adding that it had lodged a protest with the Palestinians.

In a reference to Hamas, UNRWA chief Karen Koning AbuZayd said she believes “the powers in Gaza right now will try to do something” to avoid a repeat of the incident.
