One member of the lesbian couple is the child’s biological mother; the other adopted the child in San Francisco.
The nine-member High Court panel on Sunday upheld a court order from 2000, which ordered the interior ministry to recognize both women as the mother of the child, who is now 11.
Same-sex families have no legal standing in Israel.
