Schindler Jews to mark ghetto anniversary

More than 30 Jews rescued by Oskar Schindler will mark the Krakow ghetto’s liquidation.

This weekend, marking the 65th anniversary of the March 16, 1943 liquidation, the group will meet in Krakow and participate in a march with Poles who helped Jews during the war. They will march from the ghetto site to the former Krakow-Plaszow concentration camp depicted in the blockbuster 1993 film ”Schindler’s List.”

The Academy Award-winning film told the story of Schindler, a German industrialist who saved 1,000 Jews from death camps by employing them at his saucepan factory in Krakow.
