Israel urged its citizens to avoid Tibet.

The Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem issued an advisory this week against travel to Tibet, where locals have been rioting against Chinese rule.

The mountainous Asian province is popular with Israeli backpackers.

According to Yediot Achronot, only two Israelis – a university researcher and her young son – are currently in Tibet. They were located in the capital Lhasa and are well, though they are staying indoors because of a curfew.
