Israeli special forces killed two Hamas gunmen in the central Gaza Strip.
Commandos crossed into Gaza early Tuesday to conduct searches for cross-border tunnels and other terrorist activity around the town of Marazi. Coming under fire, they shot back, killing two gunmen from the ruling Hamas faction.
No Israeli casualties were reported.
Israel has scaled back its ground operations in Gaza since conducting a major sweep against Hamas rocket crews last month.
