Two Israeli Arabs are under arrest on suspicion of being affiliated with al-Qaida.

The Bedouin from the southern Israeli town of Rahat were taken into custody last month after the Shin Bet determined they had links to “Global Jihad,” authorities announced Wednesday.

Global Jihad is a term Israeli officials prefer for al-Qaida and its international affiliates.

The suspects, who belong to Israel’s Islamic Movement, were indicted in Beersheba District Court. It was not immediately clear how they would plead to the charges.

According to the Shin Bet, the suspects made contact with al-Qaida through the Internet, and one agreed to supply the terrorist network with information of military and civilian targets in Israel.
