An autobiographical novel by Israeli author Amos Oz has been translated into Arabic in an effort to promote coexistence.

The translation of “A Tale of Love and Darkness” was funded in part by the family of an Arab student killed in a terror attack in Jerusalem, and will be sold first in the Israeli Arab sector and then in Egypt and other Arab countries, the daily Ha’aretz reported Monday.

Israeli Arab student George Khoury was mistaken as a Jew and was shot and killed in the French Hill neighborhood in 2004.

“Tale of Love and Darkness”, translated by Jamal Gnaim and assisted by the Institute for the Translation of Hebrew Literature, describes Oz’s childhood growing up in Jerusalem.
