JERUSALEM (JTA) — Police shot and killed a Palestinian man who tried to set a gas station on fire near Maaleh Adumim, east of Jerusalem.
Police had ordered the attacker to halt when he began running toward them with something in his hand, according to reports.
A Palestinian worker at the gas station in the West Bank also was injured. Ynet reported that the attacker tried to pour gasoline on the worker and set him on fire.
Police told Ha’aretz they believe the Palestinian was carrying out the attack in response to Israel’s operation in Gaza.
