JERUSALEM (JTA) — An Israeli woman who recently returned from Mexico is Israel’s sixth case of swine flu.
The woman, 27, was confirmed Thursday as having the virus. She and her husband were admitted and released from Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv on Sunday after being kept in isolation for 24 hours. They were given Tamiflu and told to stay home for a week. Her husband’s test came back negative.
The couple had visited Mexico for a month.
A 59-year-old woman admitted to Western Galilee Hospital in Nahariya was diagnosed with the swine flu Wednesday after contracting it on a flight from Madrid, according to Ynet. She was the first Israeli to become infected with the virus without visiting Mexico.
