JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israel warned Gaza’s general public not to approach the security fence between Gaza and Israel.
Israeli Air Force planes dropped leaflets throughout Gaza Monday morning warning Palestinians not to come within about 300 yards of the fence at the risk of being fired upon.
On Friday, two armed Palestinian gunmen approached the security fence north of the Kerem Shalom crossing and attempted to plant explosives there. The would-be terrorists were killed during a shootout with Israeli army forces. Later Friday, explosives were detonated near the security fence in northern Gaza.
