JERUSALEM (JTA) — An Iranian blogger who claimed Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had Jewish ancestors was arrested and detained, an Israeli newspaper reported.
Dr. Mehdi Khazali, who reportedly has participated in several opposition protests in Iran, was transferred to an unknown location after being called before a special court, the Jerusalem Post reported last Friday.
Khazali wrote on his Web site earlier this year that the Iranian president had changed his family name to hide his partial Jewish origin. Khazali is the son of a prominent pro-Ahmadinejad ayatollah, according to the Post.
