JERUSALEM (JTA) — The U.S. men’s and women’s swimming teams both won in the 400-meter relay at the Maccabiah Games.
Jason Lezak powered the men’s team to a Maccabiah record of 3:21.17 in winning his second gold medal.
Meanwhile, Amit Ivry broke her Israeli record in the women’s 100 fly with a time of 58.50. She will join the Israeli team at the World Championships in Rome next week.
Canada and the United States were scheduled to play the baseball gold medal game on Tuesday afternoon in Tel Aviv.
As of Tuesday morning, Israel was well ahead in the medal standings with 409, including 153 gold, followed by the United States with 160 medals, including 50 gold.
