(JTA) — The Dead Sea has made the short list in a competition to select the New Seven Wonders of Nature.
Two Middle East landmarks — the Dead Sea and Lebanon’s Jeita Grotto — made the list of 14 sites selected by online and telephone voters, the Media Line reported.
"We are very happy, but there are still two years ahead of us and we need to encourage 1 billion people around the world to vote for us, so we are trying to keep our heads clear," Israeli tourism official Gura Berger said.
