JERUSALEM (JTA) — Two Hamas gunmen were killed in Gaza amid unclear circumstances.
Reports in the Israeli media citing Palestinian sources said the gunman were killed Tuesday either by an Israeli airstrike or tank fire, or that a bomb they were planting at the Gaza border fence accidentally exploded.
The Israeli army has denied any involvement in the incident, according to reports.
An Israeli strike would be a violation of the Egyptian-brokered cease-fire that ended Israel’s military offensive in Gaza last winter.
