Six arrested in Turkey for synagogue bombings

WASHINGTON (JTA) — Six people were detained in Istanbul in connection with several suicide bombings, including of two synagogues.

The six were charged Wednesday for their alleged roles in the 2003 al-Qaida attacks on synagogues and an HSBC bank branch that left dozens dead, Ynetnews.com reported.

Trucks crashed into two synagogues in Istanbul carrying explosives, killing about two dozen people. The HSBC bombing in the Turkish capital killed 30.
