Late last week, we briefed the Phillie Jewish Exponent’s scoop on how Doug Pike, a Dem running in a tight primary in suburban Philadelphia, dropped the lobby’s endorsement and returned its PAC cash.
Pike admitted that he was spooked by how his association with J Street provoked hostility on the trial — so J Street decided to turn lemons into lemonade, and use that to raise cash.
Here was their appeal, launched Thursday:
*Don’t let a vocal minority turn fear into a political weapon.*
*We’re setting a new goal of $50,000 for pro-Israel, pro-peace candidates. Click here to contribute and show the courage of our convictions.*
They broke $50,000 within 24 hours. Here’s the chart.
