JERUSALEM (JTA) — Five Gaza Palestinians reportedly were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a group of terrorists preparing to launch rockets at Israel.
Israel’s military identified the potential attack from central Gaza on Saturday and responded immediately, according to the Israel Defense Forces.
It was the deadliest attack on Gaza in recent months.
The dead Palestinians were members of the terrorist organization Islamic Jihad and the Popular Resistance for the Liberation of Palestine, according to reports.
More than 200 Grad missiles, Kassam rockets and mortar shells have been fired at Israeli territory since the beginning of 2010, according to the IDF.
