JERUSALEM (JTA) — Actor James Van Der Beek of "Dawson’s Creek" fame said in an interview that his baby daughter was named for a tree in Israel.
Olivia Van Der Beek was born in late September. Pictures of the baby and her parents are featured in the latest issue of People magazine, in addition to the interview, where the couple talk about visiting Israel and their daughter.
"There’s an olive tree in Israel that’s special to us," Kimberly Van Der Beek reportedly told People. "We spent time under it when we first met in Israel, then we went back to this tree when I was pregnant.”
James Van Der Beek began studying Kabbalah several years ago, following behind such Hollywood stars as Madonna and Ashton Kutcher.
The Van Der Beeks were married in Israel at the Kabbalah Center in Tel Aviv. The couple also honeymooned in Israel.
