JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israel has imposed a general closure on Palestinians in the West Bank during Passover.
The closure went into effect Sunday night at one minute to midnight and will remain in place until late April 26 following the close of the holiday, according to the Israeli military.
During the army’s closure, Palestinians who need medical attention or humanitarian aid will be allowed to enter Israel for assistance. Christian Palestinians in possession of the proper permits will be allowed to enter Israel to celebrate Easter, according to a statement from the Israel Defense Forces.
