Outraged At Editor’s Column

A few days after President Barack Obama’s infamous May 19 statement that “the borders of Israel and Palestine should be based on the 1967 lines,” I sent letters to my representatives in Congress stating that “there are hundreds of thousands of Jewish people who live beyond the 1967 lines, and the 1967 lines are ‘indefensible.’”

Indeed, Obama’s statement seems to be a terrible change of U.S. policy as stated on April 14, 2004 by President George W. Bush, who, acknowledged “new realities on the ground, including already existing major Israeli population centers” [in the West Bank].

Thus, I am outraged at Gary Rosenblatt’s column (“Bibi Opts For Confrontation,” May 27). The slander and prejudice of Rosenblatt’s column is immediately recognizable with the headline; an accurate and objective title would be “Obama Opts for Confrontation.” Unfortunately, some of the worst prejudice against Israel and Jewish people comes from Jews — irrational hate or bad faith. In the past, only a minority (one out of five, or fewer, of our forefathers) was judged worthy by Hashem to leave in the exodus from Egypt. The others died in the ninth plague of darkness; sadly, history seems to repeat itself.
