Rep. Donna Edwards (D-Md.) introduced a motion on the House floor condemning Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) for likening Democrats to Joseph Goebbels.
In its preamble it lists just about every Jewish group that condemned West and then it concludes:
Resolved, That the House of Representatives disapproves of the behavior of the Representative from Florida, Mr. West, for bringing discredit to the House by offending the memory of those who died during the Holocaust.
The Republican majority defeated the resolution.
Here’s the problem with this: Edwards was upset last year when J Street called her out for addressing a group, NewPolicy.org, which promotes one state as an Israel-Palestinian solution.
NewPolicy.org also has (or had at the time — the link is dead) on its board Allison Weir who has promoted the notion that Jews made a practise of killing Christian children and adding their blood to matzoh.
West, yes, has a problem with shooting Nazi analogies fast and loose. But considering, it’s fair to ask: Did Edwards ever call out Weir?
