(JTA) — Iran has begun enriching uranium, a newspaper in the Islamic Republic reported.
The work is being conducted at a well-protected underground facility, according to the Kayhan newspaper, which reportedly is well connected to Iranian leaders.
In contradiction to the report, Iranian nuclear chief Fereidoun Abbasi said over the weekend that the enriching or uranium will begin "soon." Reportedly it was to take place at the Fordo nuclear facility, which is built inside a mountain.
