JERUSALEM (JTA) — A Palestinian television station in the West Bank went off the air following a raid by Israeli soldiers.
Israel’s Communication Ministry ordered Wednesday’s raid of the al-Watan TV station, located near Ramallah, for using unauthorized frequencies that the Israel Defense Forces said affects arriving and departing flights at Ben Gurion Airport.
The soldiers took equipment, computers and documents, according to reports. Reuters reported that the station was off the air.
Al-Watan reportedly is owned by associates of Mustafa Barghouti, a critic of Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
