JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israel’s Supreme Court has granted the government a second extension to examine the issue of razing unauthorized outposts built on Palestinian land.
A two-month extension to formulate a new policy was granted Sunday after the state had asked the court to postpone the demolition of two homes under construction in the West Bank settlement of Beit El. The state had asked for three more months.
The structures were due to be demolished on May 31. They are separate from the Ulpana neighborhood, which had been scheduled to be dismantled by May 1.
