Asylum Seekers, Go Home

I disagree with your statement that [if treated with greater respect], the asylum seekers in Israel from African countries will act as goodwill ambassadors for Israel (“Racial Tensions Flare Up In Israel,” Editorial, June 8).

These asylum seekers are infiltrating Israel via Egypt, prompted by their belief that in Israel they will get economical relief. They are mostly illiterate, poor and definitely not refugees from persecution. They are burdening Israel’s resources and committing crimes in the poor sections of Tel Aviv and other cities.

Sooner or later they will not only affect Israel’s tourism, but the whole character of the state. If Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu does not take immediate action to repatriate these people to their homelands, it will become really disastrous for Israel.
