Bend the Arc, the Jewish social justice umbrella, had a formal launch in DC last week.
On Monday, Valerie Jarrett, President Obama’s top domestic policy adviser, chatted with the group’s leadership in a conference call, lauding the group particularly for backing the sunsetting of tax cuts passed under President George W. Bush.
So progressive group, Democratic president, no biggie, right? Except its Obama ties run deeper than you might think.
This week the group posted on its Facebook page a 1987 agreement granting $5000 from one of its predecessors, Jewish Fund for Justice, for a developing communities project in Chicago directed by a young community worker named Barack Obama.
